Katherine Jackson to “Tell-All” on Oprah

Shortly after Lisa Marie Presley did her one-time-finally-addressing-the-Michael-Jackson-marriage-thing on Oprah, Katherine Jackson is now following suit and doing a “tell-all” about him. It will air on November 8th. MTV News reports:

According to The Associated Press, Winfrey recently visited the Jackson family home in Encino, California, for an extensive sit-down with matriarch Katherine Jackson. A rep for Harpo Productions confirmed the air date for next Monday with MTV News. Jackson’s father, Joe, as well as his three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, will also appear during a “backyard visit” taped for the episode. Katherine will reportedly discuss the day her son died and reflect on his life as a child star.

Now I’m going to get personal for a second. Being a huge Michael Jackson fan since I was 2 years old, I can’t even make up my mind on what I think about this. Michael was an extremely private person who purposefully picked and chose what he shared with the media. He went to desperate and sometimes questionable measures to try to keep his kids out of the ravenous tabloids so that they could have some semblance of a normal life, which as we all know (whether you like him or not), he never was able to have. He loved his mother to death, and naturally she probably knew him better than most people… so it’s pretty safe to say she knows that he probably wouldn’t have liked this. It’s also pretty established that Oprah wasn’t exactly rooting for Michael when he was going through his trials…so why two people who were at one point so close to him chose to go to her is beyond me. Being a fan, of course I want to know more and understand about Michael and his life…but I don’t know about all this. Can’t we just let the man rest in peace?
